After a mini-lesson, students aren’t ready to take the skill from that day’s lesson and implement it alone, flawlessly, with grade-level text, for a grade. With this in mind, it important to plan You-do tasks accordingly.

You-do tasks fall into three different levels of support—the emphasis being on the gradual release of responsibility.
